Heather represents various business and insurance clients in contract matters, commercial disputes, and insurance coverage in a variety of industries, including the health care, service and construction industries. She further counsels clients with respect to employment decisions and investigation of claims and handles issues related to employment disputes, such as discrimination, medical leave, ADA, harassment, retaliation and termination.
Heather represents her clients with an eye towards the client's overall business goals. She understands the importance of efficient and effective case management and develops a litigation plan and settlement strategy to comport with the client's business goals and expectations.
She advocates for her clients in multiple forums including in mediation, arbitration, the courtroom and contract negotiations. Heather has represented clients in all levels of the federal and state courts and administrative agencies. When required, Heather is prepared to take cases to trial. In her practice, Heather has gained valuable experience in pre-trial motion practice to narrow issues and manage proper admissible evidence, jury selection, voir dire, preparing witnesses for trial, cross-examination of witnesses and post-trial motions and proceedings. She also handled appeals when necessary and has argued before the Illinois Appellate and Supreme Courts.
