Ms. Wofford is a partner in the firm’s Employment Law and Business Litigation Practice groups and has over 24 plus years of trial experience, including extensive experience in the areas of employment litigation, general business litigation, and healthcare litigation. Ms. Wofford has represented employers in disputes regarding wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, trade secret, and wage disputes. Ms. Wofford has successfully handled various class actions, including wage and hour claims of unfair business practices. Clients ranging from large corporations to small businesses and individuals have turned to Ms. Wofford to litigate disputes arising out of daily operations. Such claims include breach of contract, violations of PMPA, unfair business practices, unfair competition and franchise disputes. Ms. Wofford has successfully defended numerous consumer class actions brought under the CLRA and California Business and Professions Code. Ms. Wofford has also handled various real estate broker malpractice cases, and product liability matters. Ms. Wofford has represented physician groups and other managed care organizations in utilization review, medical necessity, “failure to refer” and coverage disputes. She has also represented health care providers in reimbursement litigation and successfully pursued business claims on behalf of large health care institutions and laboratories. Ms. Wofford has been a frequent author, speaker and panelist, covering such topics as Privacy Rights, Discrimination and Harassment, Business and Professions Code Section 17200 and Class Actions. Ms. Wofford is on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) where she serves as Secretary of the Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the Membership Engagement & Outreach Committee. Ms. Wofford is the former President of the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Business Trials Lawyers and on the Board of Directors for the Magdalena Ecke YMCA. She has been recognized by Southern California San Diego Super Lawyers as one of the top Employment Litigation: Defense Attorneys and Business Litigation Attorneys (2011, 2012). Ms. Wofford received her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (1984), a Graduate Management Degree from North East London Polytechnic (1985) and her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law (1988).
