Ms. Rood has been providing employment and labor services, as well as complex litigation services to private and public sector clients for over twenty years. Ms. Rood has successfully litigated numerous employment and complex business lawsuits in both federal and state courts and administrative forums.
Ms. Rood has significant experience in jury and non-jury trials as well as appellate practice. Ms. Rood has successfully worked with both the insured and insurance companies in resolving insurance coverage disputes. Likewise, Ms. Rood has regularly obtained successful results for her clients in alternative dispute resolution formats, including mediation and non-binding arbitration. Ms. Rood is admitted to practice before all New York State Courts and before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of New York and has regularly appeared in other federal and state courts.
Before joining SJA, Ms. Rood was senior counsel for BIPC, one of the largest firms in the Northeast and worked for other large law firms. She also worked for eight years for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, where she served as Chief of its Employee Relations Section.
Ms. Rood graduated from SUNY at Fredonia (Magna Cum Laude) and received her J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School (Magna Cum Laude) in 1990.
