  Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, LLC is a certified woman owned business. It is the largest WBENC certified law firm in the State of Missouri. The firm is comprised primarily of litigators.   BETH C. BOGGS - Beth C. Boggs is the managing partner of Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, L.L.C. She founded the firm in 1999. Beth has tried cases, in the southern and central Federal Districts in Illinois, the Eastern and Western federal districts in Missouri and in jurisdictions throughout Missouri and southern Illinois. She has also tried cases in a variety of jurisdictions on a pro hac vice basis.

Beth C. Boggs concentrates her practice in civil litigation involving tort defense, construction defect, insurance coverage, employment law, premises liability, transportation, civil rights defense, professional negligence and insurance defense.

Beth has been named an Illinois SuperLawyer in Insurance Defense. She was named one of the "Most Distinguished Alumni" of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2008. She maintains a close relationship with her alma mater. She and her husband, Darin, sponsor an annual scholarship, which is awarded to the law school's best ping pong player. She is also one of the sponsors of the Class of 1991 Scholarship, which is awarded annually.

She was named one of the "Lawyers of the Year" by Missouri Lawyers Weekly in 2005. She received the "President's Award" from the Women Lawyers Association of Greater St. Louis in 2014.

Ms. Boggs is honored to have been selected to be a Senior Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, an honorary society honoring the top one-half of one percent of American Lawyers. She was also recently selected to the American Bar Foundation.

Beth is a frequent author on a variety of insurance and trial topics and is the newsletter editor for the National Restaurant & Retail Defense Association. She is also a highly sought after speaker, speaking frequently at national conferences on trial related topics. She is active in NAMWOLF and frequently lectures for the trials PAC.

VICTOR T. AVELLINO - Victor T. Avellino is a partner at Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, L.L.C. He received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1988 from St. Louis University School of Law, where he was a Strauss Scholar. He received his undergraduate degree in History from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri, Magna Cum Laude.

Mr. Avellino concentrates his practice in litigation defense, including personal injury, premises liability, products liability, class action, employment, environmental, toxic tort, coverage and commercial matters.

Mr. Avellino practices throughout the Circuit Courts of the State of Missouri, as well as before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He is also licensed to practice in Illinois. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Tort and Insurance Practice section), the Missouri Bar, the Illinois Bar, the Illinois State Bar Association, The Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.

MICHAEL J. LACH - Michael J. Lach is a partner with Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, L.L.C. Mr. Lach is a Martindale-Hubbard AV rated attorney who focuses his practice in the areas of construction law, products liability, insurance law, and tort law. He has successfully first chaired and litigated tort and breach of contract cases to favorable verdicts in over 75 jury trials as well as hundreds of bench trials and arbitrations. Further, he has successfully defended or challenged on appeal trial verdicts, arbitration awards, motions for summary judgment, writs and other appealable matters in the state and federal appellate courts of Illinois and Missouri.

Mr. Lach has significant experience for all aspects of litigation regarding construction, insurance coverage, environmental, medical malpractice, motor vehicle liability, premises liability, products liability and toxic tort cases.

Mr. Lach is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, and Missouri Bar. Mr. Lach has been a Martindale-Hubbard AV rated attorney since 2002. Mr. Lach has been recognized annually since 2013 as a Super Lawyer in Missouri with respect to Personal Injury Defense.

Mr. Lach received his B.S. in 1986 from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. He obtained his J.D. in 1989 from the Southern Illinois University School of Law, where he served as the Notes and Comments Editor for the SIU Law Journal and was a member of the Moot Court Board.

In 1994, Mr. Lach received his L.L.M. (Masters of Law) in International and Comparative Law from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C., where he emphasized in the study of International Business Law and International Business Litigation.

T. DARIN BOGGS - T. Darin Boggs is a partner at the law firm of Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, L.L.C. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1990 from Southern Illinois University School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois in 1987.

Mr. Boggs concentrates his practice in subrogation, employment law, defense of tort actions, creditors’ rights, collections, and bankruptcy.

He has defended over 1,000 unemployment appeals hearings. He has first chaired cases in Federal Court and second chaired cases in a variety of jurisdictions. He is a member of CLM. He is general counsel for the Blue Goose fraternal organization in St. Louis, called the St. Louis Pond.

Mr. Boggs is admitted to practice law in the State and Federal Courts of Missouri and Illinois. His professional affiliations include the American Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.

ROBERT K. KERR – Robert K. Kerr is a partner with Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, L.L.C., in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Kerr has over twenty (20) years of defense litigation experience and has successfully defended civil jury trials and workers’ compensation hearings in Missouri and Illinois. He primarily practices in the area of civil litigation and workers’ compensation. Mr. Kerr has significant experience in defending all aspects of civil litigation and workers’ compensation cases, from claim stage through appeal.

Mr. Kerr is licensed to practice before Courts in Missouri and Illinois. He is a member of the Missouri Bar, Illinois Bar, and Missouri Organization of Defense Attorneys. Mr. Kerr received both his B.S.B.A. and J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Mr. Kerr currently serves as President of the Clayton Recreation Sports and Wellness Commission, and as President of the Clayton Education Foundation. Previously, Mr. Kerr was elected to and served as Director of the Board of Education for the Clayton School District.

DAVID C. DAVIS – Mr. Davis is a partner at Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, LLC. He received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, cum laude. He received his law degree from St. Louis University School of Law.

Mr. Davis concentrates his practice in defending Illinois workers’ compensation claims throughout the state. He has handled well over a thousand claims, including many seeking benefits for permanent total disability, death, wage differential and occupational diseases.

He has won many cases before the arbitrators, Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission and Illinois appellate court, and credits an aggressive and thorough defense for his successes, which have saved his clients substantial sums of money. His clients include insurance companies, self-insured companies, self-insured employers and third-party administrators. Dave covers dockets throughout the state.

JOHN P. ZIMMERMAN - Mr. John P. Zimmerman graduated Denison University in 1980 with a degree in Political Science. He was honored as a Phi Beta Kappa in his senior year and was a four year member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. John also served as a player/coach for the Denison baseball team. John then attended Washington University, graduating with his law degree in 1983. He was an in-house member of the national champion Moot Court team from Washington University in 1983.
Mr. Zimmerman has focused his practice on Workers' Compensation defense for 25 years. He has represented companies such as General Motors and Nationwide Insurance. Mr. Zimmerman has also acquired experience in Civil Litigation over the course of his career. John started his career in the criminal field, first as a public defender and then as an Assistant Prosecutor and Chief Trial Attorney in the St. Charles County Office.

In the course of this employment, Mr. Zimmerman first chaired around 30 criminal jury trials. John also taught trial skills within the office and at the National Association of Trial Attorneys School in Houston, Texas. John has also attended and completed the Pepperdine course on mediations and advanced mediation skills.

NICHOLAS J. LOGRASSO – Mr. Lograsso is an associate with Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, LLC. He received this Juris Doctor Degree in 2014 from St. Louis University School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree in public policy administration from University of Missouri at St. Louis, cum laude.

Mr. Lograsso concentrates his practice in Illinois’ workers’ compensation defense, representing insurance companies, self-insureds, and third-party administrators. He handles cases at dockets throughout the state of Illinois. He has significant experience in handling scar claims.

PETER M. WESTHOFF – Peter M. Westhoff is a partner at Boggs, Avellino, Lach and Boggs, L.L.C. In 2002, he received his Juris Doctor from University of Missouri-Kansas City. Mr. Westhoff received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Missouri-St. Louis. In 2003, he attended the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers Trial Academy at The University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.

BLAIR A. BOPP – Ms. Blair Bopp joined the Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, L.L.C. law firm after serving as a prosecutor in Greene County, Missouri. Ms. Bopp obtained 2 Bachelor of Arts degrees at University of Missouri – Columbia, in Political Science and Psychology.

She then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Missouri School of Law. Ms. Bopp was an Associate Editor of the Missouri Law Review. She is licensed to practice law in Missouri.

SHEREE A. DAVIS - Ms. Davis is an Associate Attorney with Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, L.L.C. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Davis received her Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law. While there, she was a 2014 recipient of the Linda J. Murphy Scholarship, which is given to students who have dedicated themselves to advancing the quality of life and stature in our society of women through community service or otherwise.

Additionally, Ms. Davis received the 2015 Diversity Cultural Competency Excellence Award, 2016 Leadership Excellence Award, and the 2016 Mock Trial Excellence Award. Ms. Davis also served two consecutive years as the President of the Black Law Students Association. Ms. Davis received her Bachelor of Arts from McKendree University in 2010 and a Master of Arts in Sociology-Criminology from Saint Louis University in 2012.

PATRICK W. KEATING – Mr. Keating is an Associate Attorney with Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, L.L.C. Mr. Keating was born and raised in Harrisburg, Illinois. Patrick graduated from the University of Florida in 2010, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. While at Florida, he was a four-year letter winner on the baseball team and was named to the All-SEC baseball and academic teams. Mr. Keating graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in December, 2016.

RYAN P. KOVACS - Ryan P. Kovacs received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance from the University of Missouri in 2000. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri in 2006.

SCOTT T. MARTIN – Mr. Martin is a 2015 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law. While in law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Environmental and Sustainability Law and participated in a six week comparative law course in Cape Town, South Africa.

Mr. Martin’s current practice is focused on insurance defense, premise liability, tort and contract law. He is licensed in Missouri and the Federal Eastern District of Missouri.

LAURA PETKOVICH - Ms. Petkovich is an Associate Attorney with Boggs, Avellino, Lach & Boggs, L.L.C. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2008 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication Studies and Spanish. Ms. Petkovich received a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Loyola University of Chicago Business School in 2010. While there, she was selected as a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society. Ms. Petkovich graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 2015, distinguishing herself on the Dean's List.

JULIA STENSBY - Ms. Julia Stensby graduated with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and Russian from the University of Virginia in 2004. Ms. Stensby then attended Fordham Law School in New York, graduating with her juris doctorate in 2007. Julia was the Associate Editor of the Environmental Law Review.

Following Law School, Ms. Stensby worked at law firms in Vermont and New York, practicing in the areas of civil litigation, employment law, workers compensation, and insurance law.

DAVID M. STOLZE – Previously Mr. Stolze was in sole practice for nine years. David has been practicing law since 1986. Mr. Stolze presided over the appointment of Judge Vincent and Judge Hemphill to St. Louis County Courts. His areas of practice include collection, criminal, domestic, construction and commercial litigation. David has also been the past President of the St. Louis County Bar Association.
